Approval of Funding Agreement by and between the City of Leander and Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties, Inc. for Fiscal Year 2020 in the amount of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars; and authorize the Mayor to execute any and all necessary documents.
BACKGROUND:
Section 13.05 of the City's Home Rule Charter states that a written contract for services shall be executed prior to any nonprofit, community service organization receiving city funds. Such contracts shall establish the terms, conditions and services to be provided, and shall require an annual audit of the nonprofit organization. The OWBC (formerly WBCO) requested a Two Thousand ($2,000.00)- Dollar increase in support from Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars to Twelve Thousand ($12,000.00) Dollars. However, the Fiscal Year 2020 Proposed Budget includes the current amount of Ten Thousand ($10,000.00) Dollars.
In 2017 the program delivered over One Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand (129,000) meals in Williamson County and served over Twenty-Seven Thousand (27,000) meals at the Williamson County congregate sites. In 2018, OWBC had forty-two (42) home delivered clients in the city limits of Leander and had twenty-six (26) City of Leander residents that attended the congregate meal site. Thus far in 2019, there are sixty-five (65) City of Leander residents on home delivery and thirty-four (34) City residents who attend the congregate meal site.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve FY 2020 Agreement with Opportunities for Williamson & Burnet Counties, Inc.
