Receive, consider and act upon matters regarding the Incorporation Planning Study (C-2017-0433 & C-2018-0138);
a. “Presentation on Planning & Zoning / Covenant Issues”
Up to $872,500 funded through the Incorporation Reserve.
The Township has engaged consulting firms to assist with the incorporation planning process and updates from the consultants will be provided at each of the Township Board planning session meetings through 2018. The public will have the opportunity to provide feedback to the Board at each of the meetings; however, the Wednesday meetings at 6 p.m. will generally focus on input from residents on the reports provided by the governance consulting firms. The Township will also be hosting community Town Hall meetings in September and in November to discuss the incorporation planning process.
At the July 19 planning session, The Woodlands Township’s contracted municipal attorneys briefed the Board on Planning / Zoning and Covenant Enforcement Legal Issues. This was followed by presentations from both the Matrix Consulting Group and the Novak Consulting Group on practical matters and questions on Planning & Zoning / Covenant Issues for consideration during the Incorporation Study. The Matrix and Novak presentations are attached to this agenda item for reference. The July 19 meeting was envisioned as a working session among the consultants and the Township Board of Directors. The Matrix Consulting Group will present these matters for public feedback at the 6 p.m. planning session on Wednesday, July 25.
The public safety portion of the study, which was originally slated for the initial presentation by the Matrix Consulting Group on July 25, has been postponed.
