SUBJECT MATTER:
Receive, consider and act upon a schedule and recruitment process for the President/General Manager position (C-2019-0474);
FISCAL IMPACT:
BACKGROUND:
The Board of Directors will consider selection of an Executive Search Firm for the President/General Manager position on November 15, 2019.
 
Once a firm has been selected, the lead consultant will visit The Woodlands Township to conduct onsite kick-off meetings with the Board of Directors.  During these meetings, the following topics will be discussed:
 
  • Roles of full Board and Transition Task Force
  • Communication expectations between consultant and Board/Task Force/Staff
  • Parameters for compensation and other terms for Incoming President/General Manager
  • Timing and scope of search
  • Opportunities and challenges for new President/General Manager
  • What is the Board looking for in ideal candidates
  • Required and desirable requirements for the prospective applicants
 
Additionally, the Board may wish for the consultant to meet with certain stakeholders to gain their perspectives on what is needed in the next President/General Manager.  These stakeholders could include the Township’s Executive Management Team, the current President/General Manager, or any significant community group leaders. 
 
Ideally, the consultant will meet with the full Board, and then hold individual meetings with each Board member and any identified stakeholders.
RECOMMENDATION:
Board to determine schedule for kick-off meetings and identify participating stakeholders.
