SUBJECT MATTER:
Receive, consider and act upon accepting a conveyance of 1.034 acres out of a portion of Research Forest Section 14, Restricted Reserve “A” (P-2019-0372);
FISCAL IMPACT:
Annual maintenance costs related to the conveyance of open space is expected to be minimal.
BACKGROUND:
The Woodlands Land Development Company / Howard Hughes has presented a 1.034 acre tract of land for conveyance to The Woodlands Township (Attachment A).  The tract of land serves as the open space buffer between the Alight development and the neighborhood of Founder's Reserve (Attachment B).   The Woodlands Township has accepted hundreds of  similar Restricted Reserves throughout the community that serve as the forest buffers between Township properties and adjacent properties not within the boundaries.

In order for the owner of the tract to gain access to maintain the fence bordering the property, a Fence Access and Maintenance Easement is required for 0.0774 acres of the tract (Attachment C).   A Special Warranty Deed has been prepared for the transfer of ownership and has been reviewed and approved by the Township Attorney (Attachment D).
RECOMMENDATION:
Accept the conveyance of 1.034 acres out of a portion of The Woodlands Research Forest Section 14, Restricted Reserve "A".
