The Woodlands Township is treated as a conservation and reclamation district for the purpose of participating in the Montgomery Central Appraisal District (MCAD) election process. The election is held every two years. While there are five board positions to be filled in this election, the Township can only participate in the election for the Special District candidate. The MCAD election process has been initiated.
In the first phase of the election process, the Township may choose to nominate a candidate. During the May 16, 2019 Township Board meeting, the Board recommended nominating Peggy Hausman as a candidate. Staff has confirmed Ms. Hausman's interest in serving and has prepared a resolution for the Board nomination.
The Township is required by MCAD to nominate by resolution. Resolution No. 009-19 Submitting Nominee as Candidate for the Election of the Montgomery Central Appraisal District's Board of Directors to formalize the nomination of a potential candidate is attached.
