SUBJECT MATTER:
Receive, consider and act upon an Interlocal Agreement with Harris County related to Emergency Vehicle Priority traffic preemption (C-2019-0395);
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
Included in FY 2020 Budget, are funds allocated to upgrade traffic preemption equipment at all intersections in The Woodlands Fire Department’s service area.  Once approved by The Woodlands Township Board and Harris County Commissioners’ Court, the agreement will authorize Township contracted vendors to install traffic preemption equipment on Harris County owned intersection equipment. This agreement is required in order to complete the Opticom traffic preemption device installation that is the subject of a seperate agenda item.
RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the President/General Manager to execute the Harris County Emergency Vehicle Priority Interlocal Agreement authorizing the installation of traffic preemption devices on Harris County owned intersection equipment as approved in final form by the Township Attorney.
