SUBJECT MATTER:
Receive, consider and act upon appointments to the Booking and Blocking Committee; 
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
As set forth in the Booking and Blocking Agreement between The Woodlands Waterway Hotel owner and The Woodlands Township, three representatives are required for the Booking & Blocking Committee. One person represents The Woodlands Township, and the other two positions are represented by the hotel owner and the “other hotels” in The Woodlands, collectively. The main purpose of the committee is to handle dispute resolution in booking the Convention Center.
 
Currently, Nick Wolda, Director of Community Relations for The Woodlands Township and President of 'Visit The Woodlands' Convention & Visitors Bureau, is serving a three-year term (expires December 31, 2019), and Kim Lowe of Westin, who represents the "other hotels," is serving a two-year term (expires December 31, 2019), and the "hotel owner," which is the Xenia Group, serving a two year term that expires December 31, 2020 and is represented by Jayson Garcia of Marriott.
RECOMMENDATION:
Recommend that Nick Wolda, Director of Community Relations for The Woodlands Township and President of Visit The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau, to be re-appointed to serve a three-year term from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022, and Kim Lowe of Westin, who represents the "other hotels," to be re-appointed to serve a two-year term from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.
