SUBJECT MATTER:
Receive, consider and act upon an Electric Easement for CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC in Restricted Reserve "C" of The Woodlands Creekside Park West Section 12 and Restricted Reserve  "A" of The Woodlands Creekside Park West Section 9 (P-2019-0231);
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no significant fiscal impact related to the Electric Easement for CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC.  
BACKGROUND:
CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC., has submitted a request for an Electric Easement in the Village of Creekside Park West.  The proposed Electric Easement is necessary in order to replace overhead power poles that begin at Kuykendahl Road and Creekside Forest Drive and end at Hamlin Lake with underground service.     The poles were initially set by the land owner previous to the current owner, The Woodlands Land Development Company, and are in conflict with the current development of the Village.

To resolve the conflict, CenterPoint proposes to replace the overhead pole line by extending via underground the electric feed to Hamlin Lake neighborhood from the existing pole lines at Wendtwoods Drive. The electric feed will come from two existing poles located at Reserve C part of Caprice Bend neighborhood, cross under Wendtwoods Drive and then connect to two existing transformers at Hamlin Lake.  This approach will result in the removal of the overhead lines and not introduce any new poles.

The project requires The Woodlands Township to grant an Electric Easement to CenterPoint in Restricted Reserve "C" of Section 12 and in Restricted Reserve  "A" of Section 9  in The Woodlands Creekside Park West (Attachment A).  The project will have little impact to the trees and vegetation in the Reserves.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Electric Easement with CenterPoint Energy Houston Electric, LLC for  Restricted Reserve "C" of The Woodlands Creekside Park West Section 12 and Restricted Reserve  "A" of The Woodlands Creekside Park West Section 9, and authorize the President/General Manager to execute the Electric Easement as approved to final form by the Township Attorney.
