Reason for Recommended Action/Background |
On June 23, 2020, the Board of Supervisors approved 52 as-needed/on-call consulting contracts. When approved, the Board stipulated that any project that is awarded to on-call consultants is subject to a review process that, depending upon the size of the contract, may include the County Procurement Agent, the County Administrator's Office, or the Board of Supervisors.
In compliance with the County Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual, the General Services Director is authorized to approve services for emergency work and other non-grant funded repair, construction, and/or urgent design projects under $100,000 with approval from the County's Purchasing Agent and/or the County Administrators's Office depending upon project funding. All projects awarded that are over $100,000 or any grant funded work will be brought to the Board of Supervisors for approval. On-call consultant contracts may be utilized to work on a non-emergency basis, but they do not preclude the County from seeking other firms on the basic of requests for qualifications for any other major project.
A work authorization in the amount of $11,000 with Kitchell CEM is needed in order to develop a schematic design which will include engineering, coordination and documentation to replace shear capacity in the line of an existing shear wall that as demolished to create a larger conference room for the Tenant Improvements located at 100 West Court Street, Woodland. CA. This was an unforeseen condition when the original construction documents were developed. |
