REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
7:15 P.M.

             
   1. ROLL CALL

Mr. Romine called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M.
 
Present: Mr. Romine; Mr. Derksen; Mrs. Hicks
Others Present: Mayor Gray; Tricia Sanders; Jaclyn Rohaly; Greg Butcher; Chief Cheney; Rebecca Medinger; Heather Moore
             
   2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 8, 2021, REGULAR MEETING
             
  Moved by Mrs. Hicks to approve, seconded by Mr. Derksen

   3. POLICE
             
   A. Chief's Report

Chief Cheney stated he had submitted a written report and would answer any questions. Mr. Derksen thanked the police department for recovering his wife's stolen bike. Mrs. Hicks noted that the 2021 police replacement cruisers have been delivered. Mr. Romine clarified that there were no additional expenses to outfit the new cruisers. Chief Cheney stated that a conditional offer of employment has been extended and accepted by a new police officer recruit.
             
   4. COMMUNITY COMMENTS

There were no community comments.
             
   5. PARKS & RECREATION DEPARTMENT
             
   A. Parks & Recreation Director Report

Mrs. Medinger stated she had provided a written report and would answer any questions. Mr. Romine stated that photos with Santa will be at City Hall on December 1st, letters to Santa will run from November 25th through December 15th, the Mitten Tree is on December 3rd at 5:00 P.M., and the Christmas Tree Lighting is on December 3rd at 7:00 P.M. He continued that the pool and splash pad have been winterized and the park restrooms are closed for the season.
             
   B. Parks Board Representative Report (Mr. Derksen)

Mr. Derksen stated he had no report.
             
   6. CHAIRMAN
             
   A. Invasive species discussion

Mr. Romine stated that staff is still working on this item and will leave it on the agenda for next month.
             
   7. OTHER BUSINESS

Mr. Butcher stated everyone should have received a draft copy of a resolution authorizing the police department to apply for the 2021-2022 Drug Use Prevention Program Gran (Formerly DARE Grant). He continued that the police department has already applied for the grant and would like to request that the committee consider approving the resolution and moving it forward to Council.

Moved by Mr. Romine to approve a resolution authorizing the police department to apply for the 2021-2022 Drug Use Prevention Program Grant (Formerly DARE Grant) and forward to Council on the Consent Agenda, seconded by Mrs. Hicks
