UPDATED and Clarification NOTICE FOR JULY 20, 2020 CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Whereas, notice of the City Council meeting today going into Closed Session at 5:00 p.m. on July 20, 2020, regarding Project Mash and The Overlook Lifestyle Apartment Homes, LLC. Was previously posted in compliance with Texas Open Meeting requirements on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at 2:30 p.m.; and
Whereas, the Notice correctly referred to Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, Subchapter D, but inadvertently referred to an incorrect section number 551.071 instead of the more applicable 551.087, and City desires to clarify these two items are economic development discussions; and,
Whereas, since these two items related to two pending projects involving potential business incentives with job creation, land sales, and increased economic activity and both parties as well as the public have previously been made aware of the discussion, there is an urgent pubic necessity that the City Council meeting discussions proceed on the date and time previously posted to prevent delay; now, therefore, the following UPDATED and Clarification notice is posted:
Notice is hereby given in accordance with Order of the Governor issued March 16, 2020, the Palestine City Council will conduct its meeting by telephone/video conference in order to advance the public health goal of limiting face-to-face meetings (also called "social distancing") to slow the spread of the COVID-19. There will be public access to the location described above. All attendees are required to wear a mask or face covering.
