NEW BUSINESS   5.1.
Mandatory Face Coverings
Motion to approve a City of Page mandate that requires the wearing of face coverings in all public indoor spaces when people cannot maintain a continuous distance of six feet from all other persons. This mandate is for all persons 6 years old and older. It does not include persons who cannot medically tolerate wearing a face covering.
On June 17, 2020, Governor Ducey’s Enhanced COVID-19 Action Plan gave the power back to the cities to implement their own health and safety measures to fight the rising number of COVID-19 cases. As of June 29, 2020, Arizona’s numbers are increasing at an average rate of 2,857 cases per day and the cases are expected to continue unless measures are taken.
This increase in case numbers and hospitalizations necessitate the need for an increased focus on precautionary measures by both businesses and individuals.
