Dune Protection Permit DPP-202105-01p

Discuss and consider approval of a Dune Protection Permit for a single family residence DPP-202105-01p located at 6149 State Highway 361 Corpus Christi TX.
The applicant, Linda Gurley on behalf of Rodney Warren, proposes to construct a single family home located one foot beyond the current building setback line of 350 feet from the line of vegetation. Additionally, the applicant proposes to build a dune walkover on the property and conduct land clearing activities associated with a site pad for a future residential structure.
A Dune Protection Permit application was received in March 2021, proposing construction that conforms with the application rules in the Nueces County Beach Management Plan, The Joint Erosion Response Plan for Nueces County and the City of Corpus Christi, the Texas Administrative Code as well as conditions imposed by the Beach Management Advisory Committee (BMAC) and the Texas General Land Office (GLO). The BMAC recommended issuance of a permit under their memorandum dated May 27, 2020, to Judge Canales. The GLO sent a letter of no objection dated June 22, 2021, along with additional guidelines for construction to Judge Canales.
A Coastal Parks review shows the proposed activity is consistent with the requirements of the Nueces County Beach Management Plan and the Joint Erosion Response Plan for Nueces County and the City of Corpus Christi. Applicable permit fees will be collected prior to issuing an authorization to construct by the Coastal Parks Department.
