FY2021 Appriss SAVNS Maintenance Contract
Maria Medrano, Grants Department
Approve the execution of a First Contract Renewal Participating Entity Services Agreement for the Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) with Appriss Inc.
The purpose of the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) grant program is to maintain Texas counties in a statewide system that will provide relevant offender release information, notification of relevant court settings or events, promote public safety and support the rights of crime victims.
The Texas Statewide Automated Victim Notification System (SAVNS) is a free, anonymous telephone service that gives victims of crime information and notification about offender custody status and related court events. Texas SAVNS provides the following to crime victims and other concerned citizens over the telephone or via the internet at VINELink.
In relation to this program, the Commissioners Court historically executes the SAVNS Maintenance Grant Contract with the Office of the Attorney General. Under the contract, OAG will pay, on behalf of Nueces County, certain expenses incurred in the implementation and operation of the program. The OAG will cover the cost for Appriss Inc. to provide the services outlined in the SAVNS Maintenance Grant Contract between the OAG and Nueces County. Therefore, a separate contract must be executed with Appriss.
The operational fees total $26,053.91, which will be paid by OAG pursuant to SAVNS Maintenance Grant Contract No. 2111623. The Commissioners Court approved the execution of a Participating Entity Services Agreement for the Statewide Automated Victim Notification Service (SAVNS) with Appriss Inc. on 12/04/2019, item #3.Q. The document before the Court is the First Contract Renewal.
