CDBG-MIT Applications Update
Submitted By: Maria Medrano, Grants Department
Department: Grants Department

Receive an update regarding potential application(s) for the Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funding available through the Texas General Land Office (GLO).
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has released the application guide for the Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) competition.  The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated $4,297,189,000 to the state of Texas and the GLO has been designated to administer the CDBG-MIT funds.  CDBG-MIT represents an opportunity to fund strategic and high-impact activities to mitigate disaster risks identified by a community and reduce future losses in those areas.
CDBG-MIT funding has been broken down into several categories; three of which can be applied for competitively.  They are as follows:  2015 Floods State Mitigation Competition; 2016 Floods State Mitigation Competition; and Hurricane Harvey State Mitigation Competition.
The Grants Administration Department, along with Tidal Basin Government Consulting, will provide the Commissioners Court with an update on the proposed projects, application timeline, and other pertinent information.
