TxDOT CTIF Grant Award Resolution
Submitted By: Maria Medrano, Grants Department
Department: Grants Department

Adopt a resolution authorizing the execution of the 2020 County Transportation Infrastructure Fund (CTIF) Grant Program Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
On Feb. 27, 2020, the Texas Transportation Commission (commission) adopted rules, codified as Title 43 Texas Administrative Code §§15.180 - 15.197 (rules), that prescribe the policies and procedures governing the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) implementation of the County Transportation Infrastructure Fund Grant Program (program) under Transportation Code, Chapter 256, Subchapter C. Pursuant to the program, TxDOT will administer a grant program using the transportation infrastructure fund and provide funding to eligible counties for transportation infrastructure projects located in areas of the state affected by increased oil and gas production.
On May 27, 2020, the Commissioners Court ratified the submission of a grant application to the Texas Department of Transportation for the 2020 County Transportation Infrastructure Fund (CTIF) Grant Program.
At that time, Nueces County’s expected allocation was $285,792, assuming all 254 counties apply for their allocation.  TxDOT has since informed Nueces County that it has been awarded/allocated $311,183.  This grant does require a 20% match, which will be met through in-house design, engineering, and construction and grant administration services.
The Commissioners Court authorized the execution of the grant agreement on July 29, 2020; however, a resolution from the governing body is also required as an attachment to the agreement.
