RECOMMENDATION
Discuss and consider reclassifying Secretary II position (Pay Group 16) to an Executive Secretary (Pay Group 22) in Department 1160.
BACKGROUND
The Secretary II position has been vacant since June 15, 2018.  It was reclassified to a full-time position for Fiscal Year 2019-2020.  It has continued to be vacant since October 1 of this Fiscal Year.  
DISCUSSION
The Secretary II position (pay group 16) is budgeted at the salary of $31,033.60 plus benefits of $6,206.72 for a total of $37,240.32.  It has had a cost savings of $10,344.53 plus benefits of $2,068.91 for a total of $12,413.44 for this Fiscal Year.
 
The Executive Secretary position (pay group 22) is $40,809.60 plus benefits of $8161.92 for a total of $48, 971.52.
 
$48,971.52-37,240.32=$11,731.20.
 
The vacancy savings will cover the reclassification upgrade and save $682.24.
