FEMA PA Fairgrounds Scope and Cost
Maria Medrano, Grants Department
Approve the scope and cost for the RMB Fairgrounds project under the Public Assistance Program through the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The purpose of the Public Assistance (PA) Grant Program through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is to support communities’ recovery from major disasters by providing them with grant assistance for debris removal, life-saving emergency protective measures, and restoring public infrastructure. Local governments, states, tribes, territories and certain private nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply. Public Assistance is FEMA's largest grant program. Since 2017, FEMA gave over five billion dollars through PA grants to help communities clear debris and rebuild roads, schools, libraries, and other public facilities.
FEMA recently released their derived scope and cost for PA project #4261 – RMB Fairgrounds. The scope lists specific repairs to be made to the equestrian arena, banquet hall, exhibit halls, and the show ring arena. Any deviation from the listed scope of work will require extensive FEMA approval and adequate justification.
The federal share amount (90%) is listed as $282,501.72 and the local match (10%) is listed as $31,389.07 for a total project cost of $313,890.79.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is not an official grant award. Once the scope details and the cost are approved via FEMA’s online grants portal, it will then proceed through several further FEMA reviews before an official grant award document is created.
