RECOMMENDATION

Adopt a resolution authorizing the submission of a grant application to the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division under the Residential and Community-Based Services for Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation program.

BACKGROUND

The Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division has released a funding announcement for the Residential and Community-Based Services for Victims of Commercial Sexual Exploitation program. The purpose of the funding opportunity is to support programs that help recover youth and adult victims of commercial sexual exploitation and support their healing through immediate and long-term services.

DISCUSSION

At the time of submission of this agenda item, the Grants Administration Department is working with the District Attorney’s Office to identify a potential project.

The application is due February 11, 2021. There is no maximum amount and there is a 20% match required, which can be met using cash and/or in-kind services. If awarded, the project period will run from October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022
