RECOMMENDATION

Adopt a resolution authorizing the submission of an application to the Texas Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division for the Nueces County Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Grant Program.

BACKGROUND

The Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office, Criminal Justice Division has released a funding announcement for the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT) Program, FY2022. The purpose of this announcement is to solicit applications to provide residential substance abuse treatment within local correctional and detention facilities.

DISCUSSION

At the time of submission of this agenda item, the Grants Administration Department is working with the Sheriff's Office and the Community Supervision and Corrections Department (CSCD) for a potential project scope.

The application is due on February 11, 2021 and does require a 25% match that can be met with cash or in-kind services.
