CAEL/IDN Agreement Amendment
Maria Medrano, Grants Department
Ratify the execution of the First Amendment to the Assignment and Assumption agreement between the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning, Inc. (CAEL) and Nueces County, in relation to the Inclusive Development Network (IDN) Corpus Christi/Nueces County Initiative.
On or about April 1, 2019, the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce entered into an agreement with the Council for Adult and Experiential Learning (CAEL) for the Inclusive Development Network (IDN). The purpose of the IDN project was to build the capacity of economic development entities to lead, design, and implement inclusive workforce development strategies and to model approaches to inclusive workforce development for the rest of the field. In exchange, the Chamber would receive a $60,000 stipend to offset costs associated with participation in the IDN and IDN activities (e.g. staff time, meeting/travel expenses, etc.).
On May 27, 2020, agenda item #3.N., the Commissioners Court authorized the execution of an Assignment and Assumption agreement between CAEL and the County so that the County could assume responsibility over the project.
The First Amendment extends the agreement to December 31, 2020 due to COVID.
