CDBG-MIT Grant Applications
Maria Medrano, Grants Department
Authorize the submission of grant applications to the Texas General Land Office (GLO) for the Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) funding program, subject to changes necessary based on any public comment received.
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) has released the application guide for the Community Development Block Grant – Mitigation (CDBG-MIT) competition. The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated $4,297,189,000 to the state of Texas and the GLO has been designated to administer the CDBG-MIT funds. CDBG-MIT represents an opportunity to fund strategic and high-impact activities to mitigate disaster risks identified by a community and reduce future losses in those areas.
CDBG-MIT funding has been broken down into several categories; three of which can be applied for competitively. They are as follows: 2015 Floods State Mitigation Competition; 2016 Floods State Mitigation Competition; and Hurricane Harvey State Mitigation Competition.
The Grants Administration Department, along with Tidal Basin Government Consulting, will provide the Commissioners Court with a summary of all grant applications to be submitted.
