RECOMMENDATION
Ratify extending the contract with the Educational Service Center Region 2 (ESC-2) for Internet services for FY 2014-15.
BACKGROUND

Nueces County currently utilizes Internet services through the Education Service Center Region-2 (ESC-2). These services include a 45-megabit Gigaman circuit, and access to Internet services. In addition, ESC-2 provides spam filtering, firewall services, IP-addressing, and restricting access to specific websites and services.
DISCUSSION
Nueces County has used the Education Service Center Region-2 (ESC-2) for Internet services for more than 10 years. This relationship provides a cost effective means of obtaining Internet capabilities using contract services. The contract is for an amount of $46,559.56 to be paid by 2014-2015 Budget.
