RECOMMENDATION

Discuss and consider adopting an Order prohibiting outdoor burning in the unincorporated areas of Nueces County, pursuant to Section 352.081 of the Texas Local Government Code.

BACKGROUND

The Keetch-Byram Index ranges from 0 to 800 units with 800 indicating the driest possible conditions. The Court normally adopts a burn ban order as the Keetch-Byram Drought Index approaches or surpasses 500. As of November 10, 2020 the drought index indicated that Nueces County was at 518.
