Information
SUBJECT:
Resolution No. (R)14-04, authorizing and approving an easement agreement between the Town of Oro Valley and the Oro Valley Country Club Inc.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This easement agreement will allow the Oro Valley Country Club to construct, maintain, and operate a private force main crossing under Greenock Drive which is a Town owned right-of-way. The force main's purpose is to allow the Oro Valley Country Club to connect into an existing gravity fed public sewer main which is owned, operated and maintained by the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department.
BACKGROUND OR DETAILED INFORMATION:
The Oro Valley Country Club is currently serviced by two on-site private septic systems that serve several buildings. The Country Club has proposed a sewer design to eliminate the use of one of the on-site septic systems which serves the existing clubhouse and fitness buildings. The design incorporates a private force main which is required to achieve the proper elevation to connect into the public sewer main located uphill from the Country Club.

An easement is required for the Country Club to construct, operate, and maintain the portion of the private line which will pass under the Greenock Drive right-of-way (see Attachment 2 for location) in order to connect to the public main located within an easement on the opposite side. The portion of the private line passing through the Greenock Drive right-of-way will be encased in a larger protective steel pipe. In addition, the alignment will be identified with above ground markers in order to minimize any impacts to Greenock Drive. The public sewer main is owned, operated and maintained by the Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department and requires their separate approval for connection and discharge authorization. The easement agreement is included as Attachment 1.
