   CALL TO ORDER
  The meeting was called to order at 7:30 AM.
             
   APPROVAL OF MINUTES
             
   Approval of the minutes of the July 12, 2017 meeting.
             
  Motion by Treasurer Dean Behrens, second by Member Jim Scherdin to approve the minutes of the July 12, 2017 meeting.

  Vote: 8 - 0 Motion Carried
             
   TREASURER'S REPORT – Review of Financials – Dean Behrens
  Financials were read by Dean Behrens showing income for the month of July of $231.35 and expenses of $4,430.17 for a balance of $87,684.93.
             
  Motion by Member Jim Scherdin, second by Member Mary Lahti to approve the Treasurer’s Report.

  Vote: 8 - 0 Motion Carried
             
   Chamber of Commerce Report – Toni Gumina Yates
  Toni Gumina Yates gave an overview of Leadership Menomonee Falls.

Rainie Pellien arrived at 7:43 AM.
             
   COMMITTEE REPORTS
             
   BID Director's Report - Barb Watters
  Met with Malissa, co-owner of MK Protection Strategies. Self Defense classes/conceal carry classes.

Met with Kiara, owner of Sorella, an artificial eyelash business on Main Street.

Rainie met with Cream and Crepe in Cedarburg.

Peace Yoga has added practitioners for a total of seven.

Concerts in the Park: August 10 at 6:30 PM will be Joe and Janice, sponsored by WaterStone Bank.

Customer Appreciation day at the Farmers Market was last week. 300+ people attended and vendors were happy with the number of people. A prepared vendor will be at the Sunday market for summer and fall.
             
   Trustee Report - Katie Kress
  The Village Board heard an update on the Main Street Reconstruction.

An ordinance regarding the regulation of recreational vehicles on resident's property was reviewed.

The US Cellular Tower project appeared at the August Plan Commission.
             
   CDA Report - Cathy Hazzard
  None.
             
   Village Report - Gabe Gilbertson
  An amended Fire Station WEDC application will be submitted soon.

Fiddleheads moving ahead with final architectural plans.
             
   Strategic Planning Committee Report – Nancy Kane
  The SPC discussed the Operating Plan, Memorial Fest profit usage, and Associate BID Member prices.
             
   TOPICS TO ADDRESS
             
   Main St. Re-Construction Update – Gabe Gilbertson
  Reconstruction is on schedule. Weather has been ideal for construction. There have been few complaints from residents.
             
   Falls Memorial Fest Profit Usage
  The base cost of store directories will be covered for downtown businesses in 2018.
             
   Centennial Plaza Project – Mike Manke
  Plans include new rectangular planters to screen the road. SafeBuilt is donating money for bistro lights and poles. Gabe is working on a beer garden concept for Friday nights with an estimated opening of mid-to-late September.
             
   Budget Surplus
  Plans have been discussed for a large multi-year project.
             
   Budget/Bylaws/Operating Plan 2018 – Next Steps
  Discussions have been at SPC. This item will come back again for consideration at a later date.
             
   Associate BID Members Fees
  Discussion of an effort to review the associate member fee structure. Discussion involved possibly lowering fees for home-based businesses. Larger businesses could be based on square footage with a cap.
             
   Monthly Member Highlight – Nancy Kane
  Connor Remodeling was featured in the monthly newsletter.
             
   ORGANIZATION/CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
  HAWS Pet Fair will be held August 19.
