Special Order of the Day
- Guest Speaker, Connie Meyer, from Waukesha County Federated Library System. Spoke to the board regarding Wisconsin Public Library Standards and Waukesha County Public Library Standards. She discussed the services, resources, and other requirements for basic library service.
After her presentation, Ms. Meyer departed. The board continued to discuss what was presented. The general consensus was th
e library should continue to be funded at the current rate (or higher). If new residents are expected to move to the Menomonee Falls community, the level of funding necessary to maintain the county library standards will increase. If the standards formula is adjusted as expected, additional funding will be necessary for material expenditures, staffing and collection maintenance. The board was asked to think about the presentation and bring back any additional discussion to the next meeting.
