CALL TO ORDER
  The meeting was called to order at 7:32 AM.
             
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
             
Approval of the minutes of the February 14, 2018 meeting.
  Motion by Trustee Katie Kress, second by Vice President Nancy Kane to approve the minutes of the February 14, 2018 meeting.
  Vote: 11 - 0 Motion Carried
             
CHAMBER REPORT - Toni Gumina Yates
 
  1. The Menomonee Falls Chamber of Commerce Annual Awards Banquet was held on January 25, 2018. Here are a few highlights:
  • 195 in attendance
  • Anchor Moving Systems was awarded the Business Of The Year
  • Captain Of Industry was awarded to three top businesses
    • Moore Construction Services
    • Fresh Thyme - Community Development Award
    • Tri-County YMCA - Common Service Award
  1. Partnership with the School District brought in 50-60 businesses
  • Career Cruising - Inspire platform
  • Wants students to have at least two career experiences
  • Free opportunity for businesses to speak to school district or Meg Hanley
      3.   Leadership Menomonee Falls
  • Class puts together service project
  • Ran fundraiser for K-9 unit
  • Goal was to bring in 5k in sponsorships
    • Brought in close to 10k in sponsorships
      4.  Business After 5 meets second Thursday of the month
  • May 18, 2018: Team Building at Waukesha Gun Club
             
BANKING PROPOSAL - WaterStone Bank - Ryan Gorecki
  Potentially moving from PNC to Waterstone Bank
  1. Safety Deposit Box currently held at US Bank
    • Waterstone Bank does not currently offer Safety Deposit Boxes
    • Ryan Gorecki will check to see if the cost of the Safety Deposit Box held at US Bank could be bundled in with the cost
  2. Average balance of $30k
  3. 1.40% APY interest in Money Market
  4. Exceptional service and attention is what Ryan Gorecki stresses Waterston Bank will offer
             
TREASURER'S REPORT - Review of Financials - Dean Behrens
  Financials were read by Dean Behrens.
  Motion by CDA Representative Cathy Hazzard, second by Member Rainie Pellien 
to approve the Treasurer's Report.
  Vote: 11 - 0 Motion Carried
             
COMMITTEE REPORTS
             
BID Director's Report - Barb Watters
 
  1. It was suggested that BID inform Wimmer Apartments about the $1,300 shortfall for Memorial Fest in hopes that they may sponsor.
    • Currently sponsoring three but it felt like Wimmer Apartments would like something bigger so he asked to bring in one additional for a total of four.
    • Barb would like to ask for $1,500
  2. Beer Garden
    • Waiting on Mark Fitzgerald to determine where the Beer Caddy needs to stay
  3. The Menomonee Falls Business District website now has a "What's New" button
    • Clicking on this button will take you to a tourism survey
             

Trustee Report - Katie Kress
  Wimmer Project
  1. Hearing a lot of questions, comments, and concerns
  2. Missed major obligation date
    • There has been a resolution which was a $100,000 penalty for missing the deadline
      • This penalty comes off when they pay first tax bill
  3. Facade and landscaping is scheduled to be completed prior to May 25, 2018
    • Entire Phase 1 is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2018
    • Phase 2 consisting of the south side is scheduled to be completed by May 31, 2019
  4. There is a growing amount of conversation regarding parking concerns
    • There will be 2,000 parking stalls
    • Village conducted study shows only 1,000 parking stalls are actually needed
  5. The Tourism Commissioner has requested $10,000 in funding
    • No complaints pertaining to the request received

CDA Report - Cathy Hazzard
 
  1. February 19, 2018 Village Board Meeting saw the Firestation approved for two economic master funds with matching grant.
  2. Amendment to Tax Incremental District Agreement
    • Originally was set to be $250k, but turned out to be $79k
    • Village of Menomonee Falls stepped up to help move it forward
             
Village Report - Gabe Gilbertson
 
  1. Firestation is working through financing with bank
    • Hoping to close by end of the month but no longer looks likely
  2. Business visits scheduled for March 22, 2018 for Phase 2 of Main Street
  3. Have plans for Fiddleheads
    • No longer doing rooftop seating
      • Will now be on Four Seasons building
  4. Sandwich Board Sign Zoning Code
    • Rather than make it a permit, it will be similar to Outside Cafe Guidelines with no permit required
             
TOPICS TO ADDRESS
             
Recruitment letter for BID's Scholarship of "Leadership Menomonee Falls"
  This item will be discussed at the Strategic Plan Committee Meeting to be held on April 18, 2018.
             
Main Street Reconstruction Phase 2
 
  1. Will go out on March 22, 2018 to do a walkaround to businesses on Main Street to discuss generalities and give Gabe Gilbertson's contact info.
    • There will be a meeting the third week in April to discuss .
             
ORGANIZATION/CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
  Chamber of Commerce is hosting an event on March 26 at 6:30
