Management Analyst, Kevin Ausman, gave a presentation on the current inventory of village-owned land parcels.
Village Manager, Mark Fitzgerald, presented the following information.
  • There are 204 village owned lots.
  • 37 of the lots no longer serve a public purpose and should be considered for transfer or sale.
  • If the Village Board agrees to move forward, the process will be lengthy, possibly one year.
  • There will be easements to take into consideration.
  • Discussion with property owners who will acquire land will take time, adding land may change setbacks for some property owners.
The Village Board was asked for a consensus to move forward with the plan.  There were no members who objected to moving forward with disposing of some village property.  A resolution, with the details of how the disposition will take place, will be drafted for the Village Board to consider at an upcoming meeting.
