Approval of a waiver of Article 8.04, Noise, Section 8.04.001(a) (11) in the hours of construction work to Double Diamond Construction to provide for concrete pours at the Prep School located on 3429 Journey Parkway, between September 20, 2019 and October 20, 2019 (depending on weather conditions), and requiring Double Diamond Construction to post notifications a minimum of forty-eight (48) hours in advance of the activities.
Double Diamond Construction is requesting permission for construction activities to begin at 4:00 a.m. on one (1) day between September 20 and October 20 for a foundation concrete pour to maximize the daylight hours for concrete finishing (see attached request). Double Diamond Construction will make every attempt to respect the neighbors during these early morning concrete pours, including but not limited to, reducing volume on backup alarms, turning lights away from homes and other residential areas, starting concrete pours at the furthest possible points from residents homes, and only using the variances when heat is a major factor for completing the pours during normal business hours listed in the construction permit. They will also post forty-eight (48)-hour notices in and around the property to notify residents of the variance.

Staff recommends approval for a variance of the City’s Noise Ordinance for construction activities as scheduled in attached request for the Prep School Project on Journey Parkway.
