Contract Award to Kimley Horn for Engineer/Consultant Services for the Airport Runway Reconstruction Project
The City of Douglas was awarded a $1.8 million grant from ADOT Aeronautics for the reconstruction of the Douglas Municipal Airport runway. Kimley Horn will provide design, engineering, administration and consulting work for this project. The funds from the grant will be used to cover this expense.
Kimley Horn will provide various tasks within the proposal submitted to the City. Those tasks include administration, engineering/design, bid phase services and subconsultant services. Kimley Horn worked on the City’s Masterplan project as well and is familiar with the Douglas Municipal Airport. The award was approved by ADOT piggybacking on the State’s master contractor list per ARS 41-2581.
Total contract amount is for $298,015, which 90% is covered by the grant and 10% will be the City’s matching portion.
City staff recommends accepting the proposal from Kimley Horn as presented, with funding coming from the State Aeronautics grant and 10% or $29,802 coming from the City’s matching funds.
