SUBJECT:
DISCUSSION/DECISION on ratifying and approval of RESOLUTION NO. 20-1392, a Resolution of the Mayor and Council of the City of Douglas, Cochise County, Arizona, ratifying and authorizing the ACCEPTANCE OF GRANT FUNDING from APS in the amount of $3,500.00 and FREEPORT MCMORAN in the amount of $1,000.00 to be used for the CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY event in the City of Douglas.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony would have not been successful without the help of our sponsors Arizona Public Service (APS) and Freeport McMoRan.
BACKGROUND:
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting Event has been a great tradition during the special time in our beautiful community and is made up of fine citizens who constantly reach out with a caring and compassionate hand to help those in need. During the Holiday Season we especially remember our brave men and women in uniform who have volunteered to defend us in distant lands.
DISCUSSION:
The holiday season is a time to rejoice and remember our cherished faith and tradition and it is in the city's leadership that truly wants to foster this great spirit and fellowship by introducing this traditional Christmas Tree Lighting Event.

This event would not be possible without the help of our sponsors that have always been very caring about our community as they have always made contributions for city's events.
