Ordinance 18-006 - Annexation of Property Located at 5450 S US Highway 1
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance 18-006 Extending the territorial limits of the City of Fort Pierce, Florida, to include property located at 5450 S US Highway 1. FIRST READING
The applicant is requesting rezoning of property located at 5450 S. US Highway 1.
The site is located on the east side of US Highway 1, south of Enterprise Rental and across the street from Sunrise Ford. The property has an St. Lucie County CG General Commercial Zoning designation, with a Commercial Future Land Use. The subject property is a 2.32 acre parcel.
The property is contiguous to the existing city boundary and eligiible for voluntary annexation into the City as a commercial parcel with a General Commercial (C-3) zoning designation and a General Commercial (CG) Future Land Use.
The proposed amendment, coupled with the presented Future Land Use Map amendment, meets the criteria specified in Section 22-131 of the City Code, and is consistent with the City’s Comprehensive Plan.
The Planning Board, at their December 12, 2017 meeting, voted unanimously to recommend approval of the request.
A display ad was submitted to the newspaper in accordance with Florida Statutes for notificaiton and was published on February 23rd and March 2, 2018.
Notifications of the proposal were mailed to the owners of property located within 500 feet of the subject property. A tally of the garnered responses will be provided to the City Commission at the public hearing.
