COUNCIL ACTION
Motion by Councilmember Moore with a second by Councilmember Brown-Patrick to approve as presented. Motion passes 6-0.
AGENDA ITEM:
Consider an Interlocal Agreement with the Public Employee Benefit Alliance (PEBA).
BACKGROUND:
The City is requesting to enter into an Interlocal Agreement with the PEBA as a means to access already-existing ancillary insurance and benefits proposals for employees and retirees.  The PEBA acts as a cooperative between member cities by utilizing the total number of lives to obtain best pricing for services.  Approval will allow the City to access these pricing structures for ancillary benefits for employees and retirees.
FINDINGS:
The City has determined that it would be cost-effective to the City to utilize the buying power of the PEBA for any ancillary services.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The financial impact to the City is a $300 annual membership fee.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends Council approve an Interlocal Agreement with the Public Employee Benefit Alliance (PEBA).
