As authorized by Section 551.071(2) of the Texas Government Code, this meeting may be convened into closed Executive Session for the purpose of seeking confidential legal advice from the City Attorney on any agenda item listed herein. 

Due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) state of emergency and consistent with the Governor's Orders, this City Council Meeting will be held via video-conference.  The City Council will participate remotely via video-conference.  The facility will not be open to the public.

3.   Consider a Resolution of the City Council of the City of DeSoto, Texas authorizing staff to move forward with the requirement under Chapter 395, as amended, of the Texas Local Government Code for the consideration of the possible adoption of Impact Fees and, pursuant to Chapter 395, as amended of the Texas Local Government Code, appointing the Planning & Zoning Commission to act as the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee (“CIAC”). I.   EXECUTIVE SESSION AND RESULTING POTENTIAL ACTION
 
1.   a.  The City Council will convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071(A) of the Texas Government Code, to consult with the City Attorney regarding pending litigation: The Charter School Fund, L.L.C. et al. v. The City of DeSoto, et al.

b.  The City Council will convene into Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code, to deliberate the purchase, exchange, lease or value of real property: Pleasant Run Road  and Westmoreland Road right-of-way within the City of DeSoto, Texas.

Action(s) as a result of Executive Sessions.
 
J.   ADJOURNMENT OF REGULAR SESSION
 

I, the undersigned authority, do hereby certify that this Notice of Meeting was posted in accordance with the regulations of the Texas Open meetings Act on the bulletin board located at the entrance to the City of DeSoto's Jim Baugh Government Center, a place convenient and readily accessible to the general public as well as to the City's website www.desototexas.gov and said Notice was posted on the following date and time:  Thursday, August 27, 2020 by 10:00 P.M. and remained so posted at least two hours after said meeting was convened.

DeSoto City Council Meeting are broadcast live in their entirety on DeSoto's City Website www.desototexas.gov Government Access Channel 16 available to Time Warner subscribers on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  A taped broadcast is aired each day on Channel 16 at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 11:00 p.m. following the live broadcast.  Question regarding the broadcast schedules should be directed to Kathy Jones, Community relations Manager, at 972-230-9648. These taped broadcasts are also available to view on the City's website (www.desototexas.gov ) at your convenience. Questions regarding the Internet viewing of these meetings should be directed to the Office of the City Secretary at 972-230-9646.
