Agenda Item Text:
Approve Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) #ADHS18-177676, Amendment Number 3, between the Arizona Department of Health Services and Cochise County Health & Social Services, for reimbursement up to $275,000 to include improved cold storage capacity of COVID-19 vaccines and data entry and software purchases to increase immunization data during the COVID-19 pandemic.
CHSS has received funds for its Immunization Program since 1993 to deliver immunization services to County residents. The State, through agreements with CDC, provides the vaccine to us free of charge. The grant funds pay for management, staffing, outreach, and operating costs of this program. Our services, which are free for all uninsured or underinsured children, include: immunizing children against vaccine-preventable diseases during the course of their childhood, maintaining their vaccination records in accordance with state and national requirements, and assisting school age children with required vaccinations in order to meet school registration and advancement requirements. This amendment modifies the scope of work to read 4.12.3 - Improved vaccine cold storage capacity to include purchase of storage units (refrigerator, freezer [NOT ultra-cold freezer]), generators, portable refrigeration units. These efforts are intended to help keep vaccines viable during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, 4.12.4 - Increase capacity for data entry and reminder recall activities, to include but not limited to additional staffing, or purchase of hardware and software equipment to accomplish this task. These efforts are intended to help track immunization data during the COVID-19 pandemic.
