Award of Contract to Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc for the construction of the 2019 CDBG Solar Powered Street Light Project.
Staff Recommends the Mayor and City Council authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc. for a base bid amount of $102,088 with a contingency of $2,912 for an amount not to exceed $105,000 for the installation of streetlights within the Cottonwood Gardens neighborhood.
The purpose of this project is to provide for the installation of thirteen (13) new streetlights within the Cottonwood Gardens neighborhood located north of Cottonwood Lane and west of Thornton Rd. This neighboorhood currently has no streetlighting; this project will provide improved visibility and safety for the residents of the neighborhood by installing these lights.
Staff has reviewed the suitability of this project to be completed utilizing the Program Year 2019 CDBG funding. A detemination was made that the project is eligible and appropriate for the use of these funds.
Funding for this project comes from the Program Year 2019 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program fund account number 251-21-200-141-8301-20012.  Council approved the pre-dedication of these funds when they approved the CDBG 5-year consolidated plan and action plan. 

Do not install streetlights.
