BACKGROUND:

The City was made aware that the vacant land directly across from the Airport entry was available for bidding from GSA Public Buildings Services in December 2020. After participation in the online bidding process, the City offered $300,000 and this amount was accepted by GSA on March 8, 2021. In order to meet the requirements of GSA, a wire transfer of $270,000 was completed on April 5, 2021. Once the wire transfer is processed, GSA will provide a quitclaim deed for recording.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION
GSA required payment by wire transfer of $300,000 no later than April 5, 2021 in order to obtain the property.
LEGAL REVIEW:
The City Attorney was involved in the negotiation process.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
This City Council discussed this item at its special meeting no February 16, 2021, however, no action was taken.
