Proposed Ordinance 19-01 - Hold a public hearing and vote on Proposed Ordinance 19-01 which provides for change of time for future City Council meetings. (Oropesa/Holloman)
Currently, regular City Council meetings are set by Ordinance, Roswell City Code Sec. 2-20 to “be held at 6:00 p.m. on the second Thursday in each month.” With the move into the Convention Center and the possibility of using the current time slot for events, there is a need for discussion about the current meeting time. At the Special City Council meeting on December 20, 2018, the Council, acting as a committee of the whole, indicated its preference for meetings to remain on the same day, but expressed a desire to consider between starting at 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. A change to the time of the meetings would need to be accomplished by Ordinance. Proposed Ordinance 19-01, as currently drafted, would change the time of meetings from 6:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
The City Attorney has reviewed Proposed Ordinance 19-01.
