CASA GRANDE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION
MEETS
THURSDAY, AUGUST 6, 2020- 6:00 PM
COUNCIL CHAMBERS – 510 E. FLORENCE BOULEVARD
Due to concerns over COVID-19 exposure, the City has implemented measures to protect our community including limiting the number of persons within Council Chambers to ten and modifying the format of public hearings to allow Planning Commissioners to participate remotely.  Members of the public are encouraged not to attend the meeting in order to adhere to these guidelines, but instead are encouraged to view the live meeting proceedings on Cox Channel 11 or the City's Channel 11 Live Stream available on the City's website.  For those residents unable to access the internet, outdoor speakers will be available at the Council Chambers to allow them to hear and participate in the proceedings while still adhering to social distancing requirements.

a. Conditional Use Permit request for a tire sales, mounting and repair business where such a use is conditional within the B-2 (General Business) zone district. (DSA-19-00151)   Approved with Conditions
b.  Major Site Plan for a new 6,262 sq. ft. Firestone Complete Auto Care. (DSA-19-00152)  Approved with Conditions

2.   Public hearing and consideration of a request by the Dan Carless, for the following land use approval for approximately +/-89.9 acres of land generally located north of Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway and east of Bianco:
a. DSA-20-00091 - Zone Change from Urban Ranch (UR) to General Industrial (I-2). (Planner Joseph Horn)  Motion approved to forward a favorable recommendation to City Council

3.   Public hearing and consideration of requests ACEV Casa Grande, LLC on behalf of Circle K Stores, INC for the following land use approvals for 2182 E Florence Blvd:
  1. DSA-20-00089:  Major Site Plan request for a three-story 92-room hotel within the B-2 (General Business) zone district.   Approved with Conditions
  2. DSA-20-00115:  Variances to Landscape Code to allow:
    1. To allow 33 trees where 82 are required in per Article VI of Chapter 17.52 of the City Code.
    2. A modification to the number and placement of landscape islands   required in accordance with 17.52.500 to the City Code.  (Planner James Gagliardi)  Approved
