|In July of 2013, the Board of Directors adopted the Special Event Policy and Procedures which stipulates Board approval is required for special event permits for certain types of events that may have an impact to the community and surrounding neighborhoods.
A Special Event Permit Application has been received: Tour de Woodlands (Attachment A)
Date: October 18, 2014. No other race/walk events in the Village of Panther Creek or Research Forest are known to occur on this date.
Description: Recreational bike rides (short and long) that are routed through the community which use the communities roads and pathways. Roads used includes: New Trails, Technology Forest, Lake Woodlands, Lakeside Boulevard, Branch Crossing, Alden Bridge, and Cochran’s Crossing.
Location: Roads and pathways in Panther Creek, Alden Bridge, Sterling Ridge, Cochran’s Crossing and Research Forest.
Number of years: 4th year
Area Impacted: Villages of Panther Creek, Alden Bridge, Sterling Ridge, Cochran’s Crossing and Research Forest.
Known events at Park / Community: Ten for Texas is two weeks prior to this event and there is a walk in the Village of Creekside Park the week after this event.
Time: 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Anticipated Attendance: 450
Traffic Control Plan: Required. Currently under review by the County. Event has been approved by the County Commissioner.
Attachment B includes all events that are classified as Special Events per the Special Event Policy & Procedures for the months of September-November 2014, some of which do not require Board approval per the Policy. Attachment C depicts the event's bike routes.
