|In July of 2013, the Board of Directors adopted the Special Event Policy and Procedures which stipulates Board approval is required for special event permits for certain types of events that may have an impact to the community and surrounding neighborhoods.
A Special Event Permit Application has been received: Kids Running for Kids (attached)
Date: February 7, 2015. No other events in the Town Center are known to occur on this date
Description: 1 Mile Kids Race.
Location: Race begins at Market Street, Lake Robbins to Town Green Park and returns to Market Street.
Number of years: 4 years
Area Impacted: Town Center – Lake Robbins and Town Green Park.
Time: 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Anticipated Attendance: 800
Traffic Control Plan: Route approved by Montgomery County Precinct 3 pending Traffic Control Plan.
This event occurs in less than 90 days; therefore the 90 day pre-event application submission requirement has been waived by the President/General Manager, per the authority provided in the Policy, so that the application can be considered. Please see Attachment B with includes all events that are classified as Special Events per the Special Event Policy & Procedures for the months of January – March 2015, some of which do not require Board approval per the Policy.
