SUBJECT MATTER:
Receive, consider and act upon a Special Event Permit for the Angelman Walk;
FISCAL IMPACT:
The facility reservation fee related to this event will be $500.
BACKGROUND:
In July of 2013, the Board of Directors adopted the Special Event Policy and Procedures which stipulates that Board approval is required for special event permits for certain types of events that may have an impact to the community and surrounding neighborhoods.

A Special Event Permit Application has been received: Angelman Walk (attached)
Date: May 18 No other events in the Village of Creekside Park are known to occur on this date.
Description: Walk around Rob Fleming Park
Location: Rob Fleming Park
Area Impacted: Village of Creekside Park
Time: 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Anticipated Attendance: 500
Traffic Control Plan: Not required
 
As the anticipated attendance of this event could exceed the availability of parking spaces in the parks' parking lots, it is expected that cars may be parked along the streets around Rob Fleming Park - Creekside Forest Dr. and Creekside Green.  Therefore, while the impact to the surrounding neighborhoods is expected to me minimal, staff believed it warranted Board consideration for approval.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended to approve the Special Event Permit for the Angelman Walk.
