SUBJECT MATTER:
Receive, consider and act upon a Special Event Permit for the Run for Hope;
FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no budget impact or facility reservation fee related to this event as no portion of the event is conducted on Township property.
BACKGROUND:
In July of 2013, the Board of Directors adopted the Special Event Policy and Procedures which stipulates that Board approval is required for special event permits for certain types of events that may have an impact to the community and surrounding neighborhoods.

A Special Event Permit Application has been received: Run for Hope (attached)
Date: April 19 No other events in the Town Center are known to occur on this date
Description: 5k, 10k and 1 mile fun run
Location: Streets in the Town Center- beginning and ending at Market Street
Area Impacted: Town Center - Timberloch, Six Pines, Market Street
Time: 7:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Anticipated Attendance: 1,000 - 1,200
Traffic Control Plan: Approved by Montgomery County Precinct 3
 

This event occurs in less than 90 days; therefore the 90 day pre-event application submission requirement has been waived by the President/General Manager, per the authority provided in the Policy, so that the application can be considered.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended to approve the Special Event Permit for the Run for Hope.
