Receive, consider and act upon the assignment of pathway easements from The Woodlands Land Development Company;
Included in the 2015 Capital Improvement budget is $75,000 for a new pathway connector that would be on the south side of Research Forest Dr. between Capstone and Millennium Forest Blvd. Upon completion base annual maintenance cost for this pathway is estimated to be $100 per year.
The pathway project was originally approved by the Board of Directors in 2013 due to community support for a pathway in this area. The goal of this pathway would be to reduce the need for students to cross Research Forest twice to get from the Capstone neighborhood to The Woodlands High School. This project has not completed due to the construction along Research Forest and the time to obtain the necessary pathway easements.
The Woodlands Land Development Company has submitted three areas for which a pathway easement would be assigned to the Township to build and maintain a pathway for community use. Only one of the areas would be used for the pathway between Capstone and Millennium Forest and the other two would be retained if a pathway would be desired from Capstone to Cochran’s crossing on the south side of Research Forest. Legal counsel has completed a review of the Assignment of Pathway Easement Document and has found it to be acceptable.
Accept the assignment of pathway easements from The Woodlands Land Development Company.
