Receive, consider and act upon the Township Public Safety Camera/WiFi System Consultant Study;
To be determined
During the 2015 Budget process, the Board identified a Budget Initiative to develop a Public Safety Camera and Wi-Fi System for the Waterway/Town Center and Township Parks. In December of 2014 the Board authorized a consultant needs assessment. The study identified the needs and locations for a Public Safety Camera system and Public WiFi system.
Although the purpose of the study is to gather information to develop options for development of WiFi/Camera coverage in the Town Center area, the “shelf life” of this study is expected to be limited as technology continues to improve and change. Project and funding recommendations derived from this study will be brought forward in the 2016 budget process if the Board decides to move forward. There are currently no funds allocated in the Capital Five-Year Budget Plan to fund this Board Initiative.
The study recommended three phases:
Phase 1 includes the Town Center: The coverage focuses on the Waterway Square area, Town Green Park and the Waterway Corridor.
Phase 2 includes coverage of Northshore Park, Rob Fleming Park, Bear Branch Park and Sportsfields, Alden Bridge Sportsfields and Terramont Park.
Phase 3 includes coverage of the Townwide or Village designated park's parking lots.
The Consultant Study is attached for review (Attachment A).
Board will determine action.
