AGENDA ITEM:
Consider Resolution No. 2277, Amending and Revising the Salary Plan, the Organizational Chart and Approving the Job Descriptions for Deputy Town Manager / Economic Development and Public Information & Grant Program Administrator - Vince Lorefice, Town Manager
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
Per the Town's Personnel Rules & Regulations the Classification and Compensation Plan shall be adopted and may be amended from time to time by the Town Council. The recommendations before you create a new organizational structure. 

Deputy Town Manager / Economic Development | With the resignation of the former Economic Development Director we are recommending converting this position to the Deputy Town Manager / Economic Development. While we have been able to make great strides forward with economic tourism we see opportunity for improvement in more of the conventional economic development models. The new role and organizational structure would free up time for this position to focus on Economic Development and allow for succession planning. The current role of Economic Development Director would be removed from the Classification Plan. 

Public Information & Grant Program Administrator | This new position is a combined role. The position will assume the duties of Public Information and Marketing from the former Economic Development Director and lead the Town in finding new opportunities for outside funding. By assuming these duties, it allows the Deputy Town Manager / Economic Development to focus on more conventional Economic Development. The recommendation is to re-classify the current Recreation & Natural Resources Manager into this role and fill that vacancy internally.
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move to approve Resolution No. 2277, amending and revising the salary plan, the organizational chart and approving the job descriptions for Deputy Town Manager / Economic Development and Public Information & Grant Program Administrator.
