ACTION REQUESTED:
Resolution 21-27 - Consider Resolution 21-27 ROAD REPAIR FUNDING AND PRIORITIZATION PROGRAM. (Roebuck/Najar)
BACKGROUND:
Initiated by: Jacob Roebuck/Louis Najar
 
The gist of the resolution as presented by Councilor Roebuck is to create a road repair list and provide funding. Funding & list would be under three street classification categories.
 
Louis Najar, City Engineer background:  Currently the City typically uses the following road repair strategies.
1. Sweep/pot hole repair            2. Crack-sealing
3. Micro-Surface Only                4. Hot Recycle/Micro-surface
5. Nova Chip                              6. Mill/Fill
7. Remove/reconstruct pavement structure
 
Street classification background: attached Street Classification Map from City Master Plan and excerpt from the 2020 Pavement Management Analysis Report.  Also attached is the March 2021 preliminary road repair list for FY 2022 prepared by Streets/Engineering Departments.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION
No financial consideration at this time.
LEGAL REVIEW:
Legal has reviewed proposed Resolution.
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Infrastructure Committee recommended (4-0) to send Resolution 21-27 ROAD REPAIR FUNDING AND PRIORITIZATION PROGRAM to City Council of May 13, 2021.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Resolution 21-27 - Consider Resolution 21-27 ROAD REPAIR FUNDING AND PRIORITIZATION PROGRAM.
