Information on the City’s annual cost of health insurance and breakdown between the employee and employer was reviewed at the November Finance Committee meeting. Several model options were reviewed and the Committee provided direction to continue with our current practice for establishing the cost to the employee and employer.
The City currently covers each insurance option at the same dollar benefit level for each respective plan. Employees are also currently required to pay for their dental and vision premiums in full.
This Resolution sets the method by which these dollar amounts for health insurance will be determined to follow our historical practice for setting these rates. The Resolution also covers the other, related benefits such as dental and vision coverage.
