ACTION REQUESTED:
Resolution 19-08 - Consider approval of Resolution 19-08 for a transfer of a surplus cab and chassis from the City of Roswell to Otero County. (Best/Graham)
BACKGROUND:
This cab and chassis is a 2008 Ford F-550 that served for 8 years as a Rescue Unit. In 2016 the engine failed and the cost to replace the engine was determined to be not cost effective. The fire department elected to remove the rescue body and all associated equipment to be placed on a new cab and chassis.
FINANCIAL CONSIDERATION
The truck being considered for transfer is estimated to be valued at $15,000.00 with the repairs to make it operable costing $20,000.00. The truck is currently in Albuquerque and the cost of approximately $750.00 to transport back to Roswell should also be considered.
LEGAL REVIEW:
The City Attorney has reviewed the transfer of this vehicle in this manner and Resolution 19-08. 
BOARD AND COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Public Safety Committee recommended approval (3-0) at their meeting on January 15, 2019.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Consider approval of Resolution 19-08 for a transfer of a surplus cab and chassis from the City of Roswell to Otero County.
